I'll tell you what, I'll reach half way on Amino (current owners of Amiga Inc). The only thing positive I can say is they are with Bernie and I consider the laptops a better deal then the Amiga1.5. HYPErion, I do feel sorry for having to deal with Amino on getting a OS out the door. I am, however very tired of the legal threats and the over HYPING of their products and coding capabilities. If anything, when I see Ben's postings, I know I'm in for a real treat because no one else would even dream of representing a company in the manner he does.
RS, IMNSHO, is an ass. Having said that, he's IMHO, a better business man who understands the need to STF on public boards. By that reason alone, I think MOS is going to outlast HYPEOS4. RS can control himself, Ben evidently can't.

Once a company has alteast a minute amount of my respect, I usually start referring to their proper name. HYPErion is close, but no cigar. Perhaps if they release a decent OS minus the hype and threats, I'll drop the extra upper case characters.

Depends, I see EV6 bus as pretty respectable, and the hypertransport can be (and is) exploided throughout the different bus systems.

See above. I've been cheering on Bernie and AROS crew on their seperate projects.

That and those who have coughed up tens of million$ of Venture Capital, don't give a rat's ass about either of the two. Now it appears that Amino (Owners of Amiga Inc) have to generate revenues through sales, it's time to fleecy the sheep once again instead of suckering in more VC.

Other then to have control of the customer's wallet, there is no logical reason for PPC choice. x86 of today (and shortly x86-64 of 4Q02) isn't the same POS 386/486 of yesteryear. The MHz/GHz rumour that Apple has long spewed forth to the MacHeads are just that, and the roughest compairson I've seen that seem plausiable was a 10% effeciency over x86 (BFD). What EyeTech and bPlan should have done was buy mini-ITX mobos and cases, and sold the new "amiga" complete for $400-$500, minus monitor. If that wasn't enough, spray on neon color Boing Balls all over the case.
This way, the end user has nothing to lose, except the $100 or so for the Amiga/Morph OS. Just reformat the HD, and you have whatever flavor x86 installed and running. There you have a finite number of Mobos/gfx chips (since the gfx are embedded on the mobo with sound and ethernet) to support, just what the PPC have been bitching about why PPC was the only real choice.
