Report from USA Demo of Pegasos, MorphOS : Comment 31 of 116 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Alkemyst on 15-Oct-2002 15:01 GMT | In reply to Comment 28 (anon): well i can see where is is comming from.
seeing as MOS is not amigaOS, i can see why he dont want it on ANN.
amiga emulaters have more right in some ways, as they doing noting more than trying to emu amiga & run amigaOS to run Amiga SW.
MOS is not doing that.
MOS is a new os in its self with Amiga api layer, cos MOS has very little native apps of its own so it has to run apps from another OS by emu.
MOS does not have amiga api emu for backward compatablity with old MOS apps, the reasons i have already side.
They say that MOS is for amiga ppl, but im sure the MOS team dont want ppl to keep use the Amiga 68k api to keep it in the amiga way.
They want MOS native SW & they want ppl to BUY & USE MOS SW.
Once that happends, when we are useing more Native MOS SW than old amiga68k SW on MOS, we no longer can say we are Amiga, we are MOS.
Some ppl call MOS an AmigaOS replacement, & thats exactly what it will be no more amigaOS just MOS.
You could just as well say Windows & MacOS is an amiga replacement, but OH they are not amiga like tho.
Some ppl dont want Amiga like OS, they want to real thing from the real sources.
To many ppl have not seen enough of MOS to know how amiga like it is.
Instead we are being Told & that not good enough.
you should really wait until its out before you target another OSes Community, cos once its out the facts can be seen by all. |
