Interview with Bill M on Extremetech : Comment 56 of 98 | ANN.lu |
Posted by anonymous on 12-Nov-2002 17:10 GMT | In reply to Comment 39 (Bill Hoggett): "The Amiga stuff is designed for the Amiga community, the 7 million systems sold. Taken in context it gives the impression that the Amiga community - those who would be interested in the new AmigaOS - are 7 million strong. I'm afraid that is plainly BS, no matter how you look at it."
Uhm... I definitely didn't read it that way. Either way we're splitting hairs. If 7 million systems were sold then obviously there are 7 million potential customers. We hear routinely that there are 600 million PCs as well, but how many of these are in landfill sites or being used as doorstops?
People really need to relax. Bill is a salesman not a systems architect. The audience for this interview is the general public, not a bunch of obsessives who dissect and analyze mundane bits of information like it is their reason for being. So he says two weeks and it's 2 months. Welcome to the software industry. |
