Tom's Hardware links to the Amiga news. : Comment 11 of 36 | ANN.lu |
Posted by DaveW on 13-Nov-2002 22:04 GMT | In reply to Comment 10 (Charlie): "Amigas was brilliant in their day"
Well they certainly were an eye opener for those that have never used similar
power before. Power to the people ;)
" but times change and the amigas are still stuck in the early 90s era,"
Utter utter cock. Sorry for the expletive but its more 2000 than 2002 if we are talking raw processor speed for the hardware but the OS itself is far from
what your preconceptions seem to make out.
" this amigaone is only really aimed at the total die hards"
Die hards, romantics and those seeking an accessable alternative to the Mac or Windows. That could be a significant market.
" as no sensible computer user is going to downgrade just to run OS 3.9PPC, "
Again, total cock. Even what is publically known about OS4.0 and demonstrated
show it is far superior to OS3.x. However we should both just wait and see
for ourselves. If once it has been released and you try it and say it is OS3.9PPC then I might be prepared to listen.
"when amiga inc finally stop f*cking around and get to serious buisness"
Well they have been trying.
" then maybe the amiga may make a half decent comeback but as it is now with the pegasos/A1 amigas future is very limited"
Intially I would concede that. Initially as in 1st quarter of MOS and AOS4 release perhaps. Lets see.
", Release something the users want"
A LOT of users want Pegasos/A1. You mean release something that YOU want. Whats wrong with Linux/Java for you?
" instead of something to make a quick buck, that goes for Alan redhouse to with his crap company."
Grow up. Alan has got one of the best reputations in the industry, his company is far from "crap" and you sir are just a mouthy little twerp who bleats like a stuck pig when things don't go your way.
If you want a fight, I'll meet you in Brussells outside the Mannekin Pis on Saturday at 1pm. Bring your friends, you'll need them to drive you to the hospital.
Your father smelled of elderberrys!
Dave. ;) |
