We're proud to present you the new AmithlonTV. For all those out there who never heard about AmithlonTV here is a small sumery: The original AmithlonTV was made by Michael Ulbrich in the beginning 2002. Due a lack of time I took over his project and started a complete new AmithlonTV in June 2002. In the beginnig of November the hardest part was done. Well, now at the end of November I came to a point, where I need more information about the cards out there. So here it is: The new AmithlonTV! We're proud to present you the new AmithlonTV. For all those out there who never heard about AmithlonTV here is a small sumery:

The original AmithlonTV was made by Michael Ulbrich in the beginning 2002. Due a lack of time I took over his project and started a complete new AmithlonTV in June 2002. In the beginnig of November the hardest part was done.

Well, now at the end of November I came to a point, where I need more information about the cards out there. So here it is: The new AmithlonTV!

I made AmithlonTV for you, so I need your help to support all the card out there. My personal card is already full supported! Your job, if you take em, is to test AmithlonTV with an TV card available and send me debug information. I need detailed information on the used card (Name, Vendor, internal and external connectors ...) and the used chips on the card. It's also required to send in the "AmithlonTV/Libs/TVCard_CardData/Autoconfig.card" file which will be created when running the tool TVCardSetup. When you 're able to use Windows it would be very helpful if you could start "btspy" to create a setup logfile, which is also available on the AmithlonTV homepage within the Support/Download section.

On the AmithlonTV homepage you can also find a hardware list containing all tested cards. With your help this list will grow rapidly within the next weeks. 99% of the listed cards should at least deliver a picture on all available video inputs.

There is also a new mailinglist "AmithlonTV" for AmithlonTV specific discussion available on our homepage.

To comment on the VIA 686B issue, there was a problem with this chip corrupting IDE data when used with BUGGY pci cards that do not fully conform to the PCI2.1 bus mastering spec. The Soundblaster Live! is one such card which seems to cause the problem the most (this card is shit anyway, the PureDigital SonicFury I now have is FAR superior)
A workaround consisting of a BIOS fix (which programs some different values into the hardware registers) has long been released by VIA and is probably part of thier product spec. I would expect AmigaONE to be using these fixed values. Furthermore, they may (and probably have) fixed the problem in a new mask revision of the chip.
As I understand it, the AGP limitation is more to do with the Arctica S than the AmigaONE... the Pegasos gets around it by having one less PCI device connected, I think.
