Well, I did quote him. The quotes was the "Alan>" part, and the text inside the quotation marks was just me visualizing what he just said. I thoght that was obvious to everyone, but perhaps it wasn't. I will try not to use quotation marks in that way in the future. Happy?

Alan tried to belittle Genesi's efforts in a bad and ugly way. I have no idea if Eyetech has done any similar developing on the Mai chipset, and I said nothing about that. You must have misread my post.

Well perhaps that was then, and this is now? "We can forget the past if you can", you know ...?

That's why I wrote: "I whish that Eyetech would make contact with Genesi to see if they really mean what they say". *If* Genesi is actually trying to build bridges at this point, it wouldn't be very nice to burn them down without listening.

The terms of an eventual cooperation has not been discussed, AFAIK, so please don't speculate about that. Cooperation and "getting in the same boat" doesn't usually mean one-sided dictatorship. You can't set the terms unless you sit down and talk. I whish they would do that. And Eyetech has a strong negotiation position (well, and so has Genesi now) ...

Yes, who knows. Perhaps they tried to cooperate with Eyetech before and was rejected. Perhaps it has been Eyetechs terms of cooperation that has been unacceptable (you know, Eyetech *are* the dubbed knights of "Amiga Hardware". They have complete monopoly and therefore a strong position in negotiations). Perhaps Genesi now make a public invitation just to make it clear to everyone that at least *they* have tried ... (pure speculation thogh, but not totally impossible). |
