Pictures of ArticiaS and April chip : Comment 66 of 146 | ANN.lu |

The whole "April" thing was a load of sensationalist FUD, and all it turned out to be was a small chip or 2 that work alongside the Artica-S to fix a couple of hardware bugs.
Already fixed with a similar chip on the AmigaOne, btw. But no name was given to this chip that fixes one of the problems with the Artica-S at least. That is what Alan meant, and you completely misunderstood.
It is kind of an insult to the Amiga, which named big chips with the names, Alice, Agnes, Paula, etc. Did each of the CIA's have a name? April is just a small fix-chip until the Artica-S is released with a new stepping that fixes the problem internally. It happens all the time on motherboards. |
