Sendo Sues Microsoft : Comment 45 of 59 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Fabio Alemagna on 25-Dec-2002 00:47 GMT | In reply to Comment 42 (Ben Hermans/Hyperion): > I don't think Sun is forcing MS to ship Java,
Quoting from that article:
"Sun and Microsoft, the world's largest software company, have been arguing over Java's inclusion in Microsoft's operating system for years, with Sun charging that Microsoft tried to sabotage Java by dropping it from Windows XP, which was introduced last year."
Requoting the relevant part: "Microsoft tried to sabotage Java by dropping it from Windows XP".
So, you see, the compliance to the proprietary Java technology is not the issue here, rather its (non) inclusion in Windows XP.
On an Italian News Paper's web site the article is even more explicit, by opensly stating that "Microsoft sarĂ costretta ad includere il linguaggio Java in Windows" - Microsoft will be forced to include the Java language in Windows. |
