SciTech Software Inc. announcement : Comment 124 of 195 | ANN.lu |
Posted by alan buxey on 19-Feb-2003 11:00 GMT | typical. a thread with real news and information degrades into petty battles.
the way i see it
1) We now have a direct HAL for hundreds of gfx cards. this is good because
a) saves coding time
b) allows consumer CHOICE (who wants to be limited to just 3 types of cards??)
c) SNAP has great 2 acceleration
2) Not real delays to O4 gfx subsystem - just a P96 driver for SNAP
3) Hyperion have a very good idea of future markets and strengths of AmigaOS
(imagine POS terminals running Hollywood with infos etc...downloading
their latest files with roadshow etc)
4) The future is never clear. theres nothing to stop os4 running on pegasos
in forthcoming time
5) Those with no interest in AmigaOS (ie havent bought AmigaONE, dont have
classic AmigaPPC hardware etc) always make the most noise , demanding to know
intricate details of os4 progress.
