SciTech Software Inc. announcement : Comment 85 of 195 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ben Hermans/Hyperion on 19-Feb-2003 09:22 GMT | In reply to Comment 80 (takemehomegrandma): You are missing a crucial point but you're not alone in this respect.
Think embedded systems, not desktop for a change.
Now think of the massive multiplicator effect of being able to shave off say 10 dollars by using a lesser-known (ie not ATI, nVidia or Matrox) graphics chipset because that's all you really need in terms of performance.
It makes all the difference in the world.
This is one of the reason why I have cut back on posting in fora: you have to repeat yourself over and over again. How many times did I already say that for AmigaOS to become viable again we must branch out into other niches, especially the embedded multimedia systems like point of sales and kiosk systems?
Another key element you are missing is that SciTech continously updates the list of supported cards and that they will always be able to do this faster than anyone else because of their superior skillset and development resources. |
