Amiga-News.de interviewing Ben Hermans : Comment 55 of 86 | ANN.lu |
Posted by TimeWillTell on 20-Feb-2003 19:31 GMT | In reply to Comment 51 (Gregg): Please note that I am not blaming Ralph for his decision, I might have done the
same thing if I were in his shoes. I am only stating that this was THE opportunity
for things to go forward without a split.
And yes I do believe that MOS under the Amiga name would have a better chance of
surviving than it does. Also without a split AOS would be better off from a
survival standpoint. As it is things are tough for both OS's.
I am only upset about people running down the efforts of those trying to bring
to fruition an Amiga OS that has chance to live.
Many projects in life would never have been accomplished had the people doing
them realized what a mess it was going tobe during the creation. (this is from
personal experience) This in response to my statement about underestimating the
task at hand.
Right or wrong Ralph's decision handcuffed Bill and his options were then very
limited. Taking the money that Bill had paid for Amiga, he had to to do something.
Ben gave him a direction to go in. What would you have done once you had spent
5M for Amiga.
Believe me I think Bill Mc has made plenty of mistakes in this right from the
beginning. The goal is to get through to the other side with a viable product
that keeps the Amiga in play.
Again the only people that I am upset with are the people attacking for the FUD
of it. I never comment on MOS topics because it is none of my business. I am not
waiting for MOS. I do wish Ralph and MOS success because I believe that hard
work should be rewarded. I just don't think MOS can survive this economy. In fact
I also feel it may be too hard for Amiga to survive.
But then again only TimeWillTell |
