In reply to Comment 3 (Raffaele):
Hi,

Thanks for the replies, will check all that out...

> What does it mean ***NO*** UAE? Do you want to use your midi port in Amiga environment onto UAE, or does it must be used into PC Win environment???

Sorry, that was a typo... was supposed to be 'on' UAE. or 'in', or 'with', whatever :-)

So I would have liked to run Music-X in UAE, with my Amiga serial midi interface, on a PC. Amiga serial ports are not the same as PC ones, but apparently UAE can rout the midi data to a PC midi interface. Brilliant :-)I'll see if that works for Music-X...

With 'noisy' I meant that my A4000 physically makes a lot of noise, which is not good in a soundstudio environment. So that's why I would like to set it up on my laptop, since that makes no noise at all, and I use it for recording purposes anyway. But I am still somewhat attached (yes there's an emotional factor too, but quite simply Music-X is sooooo easy to use...) to my Amiga tools, so just looking for the best of both worlds really...

> Why Amiga interfaces have in-out and THRU MIDI connections and PC interfaces (and modern also) have only midi in-out?

I wouldn't know... I know there are a lot of PC interfaces which do have them, but all the standard ones that come with sound cards are just In and Out. If you want Thru, pay more I guess :-)

I do have to admit I never actually needed to use the Thru ports...

Cheers,

Pitur.
