This is a call to stop the war started by BBRV some days ago about Amiga Inc. I just would like to point some little things here, read this and see by your own.
BBRV is a guy (sorry two personns)that are really present in forums since some months. So He should have know that the news of changing tha AINc's CEO wasn't known by anyone.
- Due to this point, BBRV has done quiet a strange announcement based on nothing real.
- Mister BBRV don't have to pass such informations, it's about AInc to do so
- Mister BBRV like to tell that we want Bill McEwen out, maybe he wants him out, but what's the hell is the problem with Bill? Her's here, he's working, end wuiet good. He is doing enormous efforts in order to keep Amiga alive, he is the man that have brought DE, brought OS4, moved to a PPC mainbord, found partners....
- Fleecy ha stated about the CEO stuff, why don't you agree with he's statements? He's after one of the most active Amiga member, and when of of the top member is saying "no it's fake news" you should hear him.
So please take a great, great, care about what BBRV is telling. Don't forget he has PPC board ans OS to sell, he's advantage is probably to have the community against Bill McEwen (and so against Amiga Inc). This is business, and I really, really don't like the way BBRV is doing business.
I let my mailbox in from of this news, please don't flood me!

Stop the anti-AInc policy now : Comment 32 of 88 | ANN.lu |
Posted by tronman on 02-May-2003 05:54 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (STRICQ): Hey Doug
So, its like this. Yesterday, (april 30, 2003) Bill McEwen told my attorney under oath that he's no longer CEO of Amiga, Incorporated. 50 percent of the company is in fact owned by a Dutch consortium, or so Bill said under oath. That came out of HIS MOUTH.
This is in relation to our attempts to gain collection on the judgement against Amiga, for the months they didn't pay me for working-of which there are plenty!
So, DOUG, who is lying here? Is it Bill McE, perjuring himself under oath to my collections attorney? Or is it Fleecy and Co. who are mistaken?
If Ray is correct and everyone is getting paid, as he said in a post circa March 5, the ANN thread to which was subsequently deleted entirely (at the behest of Amiga?) then where the hell is my money?
Hey, someone is lying here, and it isn't BBRV. I've paid my dues for working at Amiga, $30,000 worth, and my finances and marriage sure aren't better for it.
I know I'm not lying, and neither is my attorney. You can call me what ever you like, but this is the truth.
Let me break this down here:
July 2000: I start work for Amiga, iNcorporated
October 2000: CFO runs screaming from the building (figuratively speaking). Paychecks late a few days..
November 31, 2000: Payroll happens. Assurances made of 'plenty of money' for Christmas etc.
December 15, 2000: Hmm, no paycheck. Presents pile up in McBill's office for his family. Our Christmases blow.
January 2001: Paychecks resume, but become slightly unreliable in terms of being late sometimes, and being asked to hold on to them a day or two..
April 30, 2001: The last regular, ADP generated payroll from Amiga, INcorporated is distributed to employees.
May 15, 2001: Rose Carmela Peck, my daughter, is born. Hmm, no payday.
June 14, 2001: Unbeknownst to Amiga employees, Amiga stops paying health insurance premiums, but doesn't tell us. This gets important later..
September 5, 2001: I begin the first day of the 2001 Canada>USA AIDS Vaccine charity bicycle ride. (I signed up for this last year..) Still no paycheck since April 30.
OCtober 14, 2001: I manage to get an 'advance' in the amount approximately equal to one paycheck in order to attend a funeral in SLC, UT for a friend's mom :-((
October 16, 2001: The check bounces and must be re-deposited by Amiga. The cascade effect on our checking accounts is a bummer.
OCtober 31, 2001: Some form of payment resumes: Amiga take no taxes from our checks and essentially hand write them, claiming us as an 'expense'
November 2001: Various and sundry promises continue to be made about back pay, how we'll start getting double checks etc.
November 9, 2001: I break my ankle in a mountain biking accident, run up almost two thousand dollars in medical bills
November 15, 2001: Paychecks late, if you cashed it early it cleared, if not, it didn't. I Didn't get lucky..
November 21, 2001: I'm in Hawaii on family vacation (obviously I didn't pay for this..) and checks start bouncing because I didn't get lucky, see above..
November 23, 2001: Amiga re-deposits my paycheck and, to its credit, repays a few of the bounced check fees. Wow.
December 1, 2001: First December payroll, still handwritten. Assurances made of 'plenty of money for payroll, go ahead an Christmas shop'
December 15, 2001: No Christmas paychecks. Hmmm. There are so many presents in Bill's office that he has to keep some of them outside. It was a good Christmas for Bill, it blew (again!) for the rest of us..
January 1, 2002: Paychecks resume, somewhat, we're now put on once monthly pay period. This is hugely unpopular, although we get raises.
January 2002: It is revealed that we've been without health insurance. All the claims finish being rejected. Oh dear.
February 25, 2002: Its announced that feb's pay will be late. I personally tear Vince a new one..
March 2002: February's pay finally arrives, its paycheck lotto again. I get lucky this time..
<all during this time> various and sundry more promises are made about back pay, they never happen.
Frank Wilde and his team sign on breifly, hand out more stock options which are soft yet strong and absorbent ;-)
April 2002: Wilde and team run screaming from the building (figuratively speaking)
May 2002: At some point, we get our last paychecks, and are told (again) that money's tight.
June 6, 2002: We're locked out of the building but are graciously given our company computers to use so we can still work from home.
We haven't been paid since May, ntm all the back pay we're still owed and the health insurance bills which Amiga never took care of, although they swore up and down they would.
June 2002: I am forced to go on unemployment. I didn't have a house in Houston to sell and live on, or a ranch, or horses, or motorcycles..
June 2002: I am terminated from Amiga, Incorporated illegally, but am told 'You're not really fired, that was just for unemployment'
Yeah, that and to lighten AMiga's tax burden, payroll, health insurance, and to reduce to a minimum any obligation on their part to right the wrongs done.
Also, I'm not the only employee to whom this happens.
July 2002: They ask me not to sue them 'money's coming, you'll see' so I wait.
September 2002: I'm sick of waiting, so I sue them.
December 2002: Judgement is passed against Amiga, Incorporated for my back pay, medical bills, and so on. They promise to pay, of course.
March, 2003: Amiga are in default :-(
April 2003: Bill has to come in and testify about his finances. Of course, he's broke. He can't pay. This is when we learn of the new CEO, Gary Hare, and Bill's virtual washout by the Dutch firm.
Meanwhile: Wow, those health bills and stuff really hozed our credit rating, we can't buy a house.
Tears are shed, its a bad scene. This is what working for Amiga, Incorporated brought me.
I work as a bicycle mechanic in Bellevue, Washington now. At this rate, we'll be out of debt in about six years.
We spent our retirement accounts etc. while living without pay and believing in the dream, being strung along with promises of money, its almost here, your stock options might be huge, blah blah blah..
This is my story. You will note that Amiga's financial troubles began long before 9/11, before the tech downturn got crazy and so on..
You can intersperse your own Amiga remembrances with the dates here :-)
Now you have a reason to hate me, bitch. |
