Video editing makes extensive use of jog/shuttle and slider controls as well. The DraCo had such an add-on, for example.

As for the current implementation, if anyone involved is reading this, please put the input libraries inside a new drawer in DEVS: and not into SYS:Libs, since LIBS: would be overtly crowded, and these input device libraries could be regarded in the same vein as Monitors, Keymaps or DOSDrivers.
Also, there are two-button joysticks and joypads out there, don't forget those.
