AmigaInput - The new Gaming-API for AmigaOS : Comment 7 of 19 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Joe "Floid" Kanowitz on 02-May-2003 09:48 GMT | In reply to Comment 5 (Anonymous): Not to mention graphics tablets, and other alternative control devices- the Griffin PowerMate, for instance, and various "knob boxes" common in the video/audio fields. (I wonder how MIDI keyboards will be handled?)
Hyperion had games in mind, of course, but hey, we've always been a gaming platform, they make great demos, and they're the 'only' software Hyperion has full control over for the launch, so they may as well work to their fullest. :) This was also one of the first things promised, if I recall, so it's good to see it come together.
Ironically, I just picked up a USB Sidewinder from Staples' closeout bin, and none of FreeBSD, XFree86, or xmame seem to have ironed out support. [I haven't started digging at SDL, yet, and yes, I'm aware the situation's a bit improved under Linux. ;)] |
