Behind the Scenes of Amiga Inc. : Comment 131 of 197 | ANN.lu |

I was a software tester for Amiga, Incorporated. After three months of no paychecks, I became the ONLY software tester for them. I was never allowed to work in any way with the Classic stuff (because it didn't exist except in Fleecem's wettest dreams? I am not sure..) and I can personally tell you how broken DEad is. Just try and mount a CDROM drive from within intent/elate ;-)
Still, I was the only QA guy for the only real product that Amiga ever released, the AmigaAnywhere Game Pack #1. Our team did a lot of brilliant work on that, and management issues aside, I'm proud of the way it turned out and that I was a part of it.
I sure wish I could get paid for it though!
During the summer of 2001 I personally packaged over 700 copies of the Party Pack, a rebadged Intent 1.1 release with some games hacked into the menus. This too was another rolling of the Community for money. So, as I asked management at the time:
If I have the Party Pack, and hence the $100 off OS 4.0/A1 (the wording was kinda vague on the coupon) and I then send in another fifty bucks, for another coupon, that gives me $150 off the A1/OS 4.0. SO, if OS 4.0 is to be sold by itself for $100, do I get a copy and a half?
Will both coupons be honoured?
My only regret in this is that I beleived in the dream for so long. I really did. It wasn't just the money, I wanted to see us succeed. But now, I am pretty sure reality has set in and it isn't gonna happen.
Also, I 'd like to say that I hope Hyperion succeeds in their venture, I have had dealings with them and they were always fair and square. No issues there from me.
Eyetech seemed famous for making what I thought were backhanded comments about Amiga, but maybe now I can see why.
Anyhow, thank you all for the positive comments, I appreciate it. I have a paypal account but will not take your money as one poster suggested-Amiga's done plenty of that already :-(
I won't post legal docs etc. a'la Rwoods-that is no ones business but the litigants. You'll just have to believe me, or not. Its OK. I just wanted the truth to be known, for whatever that's worth.
