Behind the Scenes of Amiga Inc. : Comment 181 of 197 | ANN.lu |

The brand has nothing to do with ‘suffering’ i.e. it’s just a recognizable label. No different to "Red Hat Linux" label.
> IF Genesi succedes it's goal with their products (Pegasos / MorphOS) that

Would your rhetoric change IF the MOS camp has "the Amiga brand"?
> That goes for AROS too.
Note that AROS is a variant of the brand(a play on the name) i.e. A.R.O.S. is also known as "Amiga Research Operating System". They could name it as OpenAmigaOS or "Amiga Open Operating System", just like OpenVMS or OpenBeOS.
MorphOS could be rename to "Amiux" (a play on *nix) or AOS (a play on BeOS) or <whatever>. MOS camp should be imaginative enough without breaking “the name’s” copyright or messing with this sorry episode. |
