Fleecy addresses promotional Amiga OS4 rebate handling : Comment 31 of 47 | ANN.lu |
Posted by samface on 13-May-2003 08:38 GMT | In reply to Comment 29 (Kjetil): "Yes I do, and continue to read them the same, no matter how wrong they are it kind of amuse me at the same time."
So, you are saying that you're intentionally just beeing a prick because it's amusing you?
"If fink it just silly to give estimates on products tree releases ahead of time, when we do not know when OS4.0 or OS4.1 is coming out, for shore. There is simply to many unknowns and by way, developers tend to be optimistic of nature, they never think worst case scenarios and they have tendency to solve one problem as the time they do not look at every thing at once, due to this will to depressing and to complicated to solve every thing at once for any one to bear, its the small puzzles that interest the developers."
Hence the give or take 6 months. That gives him an error margin by a whole year. Are you saying that his estimate is too specific?
"Different developers do different thing they do not have the complete picture, only the project manager have the full picture butt he is jugging from the developers."
Yes, and that project manager has a direct communication with Fleecy, keeping him up to date on the whole picture of whats going on and problems that might occur. Of course there is no such thing as a fool proof estimate on a development project such as this. That's why you should think of it as just that, an estimate. Just like with a weather forecast, it may or may not become true. Take it or leave it. |
