It appears Amiga Inc never owned some of the hardware they were possessing.
from http://www.murphyauctions.net/amiga.html
Amiga Inc is being sold by order of the property management. Some of the equipment listed has been claimed by vendors as of Wednesday, June 11, 2003. The equipment was only on the premises as a "loaner" to Amiga for development reasons. The following items have been removed from the sale:
IMAC PC
EPSON 740i printer
NOKIA MEDIA terminal
NETBOOK pda
SHARP pda
MY FRIEND pocket pc
AQUAPAD mobile internet device
VADEM CLIO pocket pc
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Amiga Inc auction update : Comment 30 of 57 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Tronman on 15-Jun-2003 19:48 GMT | In reply to Comment 26 (dammy): Uh, yeah I would like to know that, actually. So would my attorney.
But, also very importantly, what about the other 8 or 9 employees (not
counting officers Vince, Fleecy and Bill) who also didn't get their
money? We're talking about dedicated folks who uprooted their lives,
moving thousands of miles, because they either 'believed in the dream'
and/or Amiga offered them a hefty paycheck. Which they very soon
stopped getting.
Because I made the most noise, I sorta got famous but actually, others
took it in the shorts worse than me-but they happened to have other
resources on which they could rely so maybe they didn't have the near
brush with welfare that I did :-/
I will be going to the auction Tuesday, since I live close by, and it
will be interesting to see who shows up. Incidentally, the Imac was
McBill's own personal machine, so somehow he did manage to get that
back. Bummer, I was gonna try to buy it..
What should be read into this, is that Amiga had NO intention to
develop the 'Mac-ithlon' that Bernie had suggested was possible back
when we first got Amithlon to check out. I practically stood on my
head to convince Amiga to buy the rights to Amithlon and sell it for
some badly needed cash. But It didn't 'fit into our roadmap' and was
a 'deadend product' as Fleecy said :-(( Amithlon could have opened
many doors for Amiga, it would also have kept the entanglements of
dealing with H and P to a minimum, additionally providing a much
needed revenue boost and vehicle for the DE Player to be sold in a
unique and attractive way (to PC users). But what did I know, right?
Apparently, not enough to get out while I still had some money..
I just laugh when I read posts of the remaining AI defenders, about
Amiga's 'vision' and so on.. Oh wait, no I don't-It just makes me
more sure that I'll never see my settlement. These guys just can't
see the forest for the trees. If YOU were a potential investor, and
did a little due diligence on Amiga, Incorporated, would YOU give them
a million bucks? Be honest.. |
