I don't see your name on the "ColdFusion Accelerator" page, but it seems like you are one (*the* ?) developer of that project. First of all, I would like to tell you that you have my *deepest* respect for your effort!
:-)
Then I would like to thank you for taking the time to addressing my questions!
OK.

Not really, there are only two (or rather one; the Pegasos), but they are quite similar. They both have one weakness though (from an Amiga "geek" point of view); they both are quite "PC" in their architecture. The only difference (Hardware wise) is the CPU. Traditionally, the Amiga is *far* from the "PC". Nothing wrong in using some core "x86" HW components for some purposes (I/O among others), but IMO the Amiga was much more than the *grey standard* CPU/NorthBridge/SouthBridge architecture.

I really think you should reconsider. Raise your ambitions! To me it seems you are only taking 3/4 of a full step, and the missing last quarter will/might prevent your project from succeding (stuck in the middle (not really this and not really that)). Why don't you initiate a conversation about this issue with Jens Schönfeld of Individual Computers (jens@ami.ga). Of course, the least possible demand for any "Amiga" version of the "Super VIC" would be a true colour display.
Good luck! |
