At the recent Pegasos-presentation at the central station in Leipzig, Germany, also Mandrake 9.1 was shown on the Pegasos, installed using Michael Heider's Image-Installer.

German report about Mandrake on Pegasos : Comment 15 of 18 | ANN.lu |
Posted by corpse on 06-Jul-2003 20:54 GMT | In reply to Comment 14 (Anonymous): "Solaris doesn't include Linux code therein (although Linux contains code released by Sun which they developed for Solaris...) "
You have to seperate kernel and userland ... a Solaris userland could possibly exist on a Linux kernel just as the GNU userland does.
"What you are probably thinking of is Sun's range of x86-based computers, which run both Solaris x86 and also Linux."
I thought Sun released a Linux based solaris .. i could be wrong ;)
"Linux can exist perfectly well without GNU tools."
Ah, so you're going to build the kernel with visual c++, write your own c library and shell etc ;)
"RMS has no validation to his DEMAND that Linus rename "Linux" to "GNU/Linux","
IIRC he never asked that they rename the kernel GNU/Linux but start calling GNU based Linux systems GNU/Linux opposed to just linux to show the presence of the GNU tools
"other than his normal overinflated ego trying to take control over everything as usual."
Maybe its just morons misunderstanding or making up what RMS has said that makes it seem so? |
