Copyrights protect the rights to 'copy'
They have nothing to do with the right of possession.

No one is in violation of a copyright because they possess copyrighted material.
It is the people that are involved in distribution that are the only ones who violated the 'copy right....the right to copy...however you need to say it'

Now, the DMCA is a different issue, and licenses are different issues.
But this isn't a license or DMCA issue, it is a copyright issue.
If you want to, go after the person distributing the offensive material
and IF you can convince his web provider to take it down (not hard)
that will happen.

And you will have the appropriate resolution for the very minor offense that we have witnessed.

I spend a lot of time trying to convince people not to be thieves.
Politely telling them thievery is wrong, while making some of you go
*ape sh#t*...is actually the most tamest of responses.

Less tame responses, like putting people in jail, are appropriate for certain types of crimes...but I happen to believe almost never appropriate for a crime like copyright violation.

I staunchly advocate my right to call you pirates and a22bandits (and there are a lot of you here) out...because you are scum.

I would, nevertheless, not threaten to take you to court, or ever advocate prison time for such things....that's simply absurd. And I agree, the U.S. is the country that is primarily gone too far in trying to end piracy by draconian means.

Nevertheless, a lot of other individuals residing in various countries, including the U.S., but most of you are in Europe, and are absolutley disgraceful representives for your countries....here right on this board, are sick criminals, and deserve a good scolding.
