An amigaos based on a linux kernel would be even less "another linux dist" than macos is another BSD thought. Since you don't actually have to use all the variuos gnu tools and others which make the "dist", you can use only the kernel and add your own programs on that if you want, there macos on the other hand uses many of the bsd land user tools aswell.
