SWAUG.org.uk has a review of the new CD-ReWriter from Lite-On. It is a 52x32x52x drive.

We see how well it works with the Amiga.

Reported from the review:

I wonder what have had happened if they had provided the interface that converts IDE to SCSI, allowing the IDE CD writer to be connected directly into the SCSI chain...

A friend of mine has it for its main hd and it is pure nuke power.

benefits:

Increased speed of IDE HD EVEN (sometimes) upto 4 times

Chained to SCSI (even on an old Amiga it doesn't annoy the CPU anymore)

***With this card... ...How much the speed could had increased?***

Here follows some info about ide/scsi interface.

When searching back for this interface card I don't remember well, I found first review of it (IDE2SCSI) on NoRiscNoFun:

http://www.trotta.de/club/heart/index.php?content=ide2scsi

and special prices:

http://www.trotta.de/club/php/main.php?content=ide2scsi

(If you don't read german you can find useful google translators as I did.)

A complete review is on amiga magazin:

http://www.amiga-magazin.de/magazin/a09-02/idescsi/index.html

And it reports some other ide/scsi resellers.

There is also another product: "I-O Data IDSC21 Series".

I found news of it on an Atari site (How amazing) with a complete review:

http://alive.atari.org/alive5/ide2scsi.html

the original manufacturer is here:

http://www.iodata.com/products/products.php?cat=INTP&ts=2&tsc=14

The atarians said (not without anger I think) that it can be find at an amigan reseller, a swedish firm:

http://www.ggsdata.se/

(I think that if this amiga firm is selling it, then it "must" work quite fine on our machines... or not???)
