More official screenshots from Hyperion are now available at the AmigaWorld.net community portal. These shots demonstrate the debugging capabilities under AmigaOS 4. Two programs are involved in this: The Grim Reaper and gdb.

Screenshots demonstrating AmigaOS4 debugging capabilities : Comment 78 of 78 | ANN.lu |

stating that nowadays every modern graphical user interface should at least
have both an "iconify" and "maximize" gadget and I don't understand why
we need to go through patches or commodities for getting such as basic
functions."
I've never wanted to iconify a program or a window on an Amiga. Miami sometimes iconifies itself, but that is just a nuisance. The feature seems aimed at those who don't use (or don't understand?) the public screens system.
You would not want to fully maximise a window, as it would cover up the menu bar, but it might be handy in a web browser to maximise to the whole screen _except_ the menu bar. Some types of program, such as paint programs, work best when there is a borderless window filling the whole screen (see Personal Paint or TVPaint). In this case there are _no_ window gadgets or borders.
Not every program should have standard windows with borders and gadgets in its GUI. Borders and gadgets waste a lot of screen space if they are not needed. |
