Acid64 is a windows-based SID-player that now supports the soundchip of the Catweasel MK3. The author Wilfred Bos has released the software as Freeware on his website www.acid64.com. In windows-terms, it's a fairly small program at about 200K size. It does not require a complicated installation procedure, because it's a single file.

Acid64 player now with Catweasel MK3 support : Comment 9 of 9 | ANN.lu |

"I think haven't referred to ANN.lu as "Amiga Network News" for at least two years now, if not more."
No offense but it has little to do with what ANN's been referred to and more what Amigans have considered it since it's inception as an Amiga news site. MANY still regard it as such, and opinions to the contrary are probably one of the roots of the problems. Perhaps if ANN went back to it's original philosophy of being a news site catering specifically to Amiga software and hardware, there'd be a lot less of the slashdot antics with all the trolls running amok here.
And before anyone get's a wild hair in their keister, "Amiga software and hardware" would be up to Chris and his team of moderators to decide what their definition is. One rather neutral idea that could encompass all players in the current childish fiasco running rampant throughout the "Kommunity" is: Any game, application, etc designed to run within the Amiga OS environment (all versions of the OS from 1.1 to 3.9). This could include MorphOS, AROS, and Amithlon/UAE but NOT the OS the latter two run under. There are plenty of sites for Win* and Linux out there for that.
A possible working, mostly politically correct definition for "Amiga hardware" could be: Any hardware/peripheral for use with Amiga branded and clone hardware, as well as peripherals FOR 3rd party hardware (a good example would include Norway and new PCI cards supported by Mediator, since they don't work without their respective host-cards, and those have to be in Amiga hardware to work in the first place).
Of course, I'm glad for anything other than the flamewars that normally run rampant on here. Unfortunately, given the nature of 98% of the posters, the solution I proposed above wouldn't work because it makes too much sense.
On another note, I'd love to see a decent SID player ported (or created native) for the Amiga, since the HVSC has gone SIDPLAY2 (which means a LOT of the converted sids no longer play correctly with currently available players), and especially one *FOR THE AMIGA* announced for use with the Catweasel Mk3's.
