Amiga Inc. is in danger of insolvency and the Amiga brand again faces uncertainty. : Comment 116 of 120 | ANN.lu |

I suggest "No" to open source for AmigaOS. Just let it die please? Same goes
for MorphOS by the way as it too is just as retro as the AmigaOS
Eye-candy can only go SO FAR. Functionally.. both of these systems are
no where near today's OS standards. The hardware for both Peg and A1 are WAY overpriced when one can purchase a used or older model Mac for equal the price (Please dont even suggest MOL. I have used it and it is not a MAC replacement)
There is NOTHING special about these boards! Whatever the reasons are for why these boards are so expensive, they are not justified when you see that even the most HIGHEST end G4 A1 or Pegasos boards are already outdated (Hello? G5 is here!)
Linux on my PC works just as fine so who needs a A1 or Pegasos for that?
Again, AmigaOS (be it 3.9 or if 4.0 ever ships) and also MorphOS are just too retro and not up to standard.
Without Linux installed, interfacing in the real world to a MAC or PC is practically impossible or just TOO much work to integrate and not cost effective. There is no reason to even introduce these machines in current environments without Linux installed. So I ask.. what the hell is all the hype about????? |
