Some news passed unnoticed: The OpenBeos bootloader for any Openfirmware computer PPC based, will be ready for the middle of October. You can read about it at: www.iscomputeron.com. Well, it is just in time for the launch of Pegasos II. Will we see Pegasos II with OpenBeos almost pretty soon?

Well, it's been on the Phoenix (http://phinixi.com) front page in small print for several days, but thanks for the additional mention.
As for the value of the OpenBeOS port for the Pegasos, at the very least it's worthwhile because it helps build critical mass for the platform in terms of developers, users, software and ideas. More specifically, this port has gotten a lot of attention among BeOS fans who, as mentioned, are alive and well. This translates into sales for Genesi and other companies, to be pragmatic, as well as giving a boost to intangibles like bringing (Open)BeOS back to its roots, which sounds good to a lot of people. For those of us who've wanted BeOS to continue in some form because of its inherent coolness, the Pegasos port is a great thing and could even roll energy back into the OpenBeOS project itself.
