RJ Mical and Pegasos in Helsinki : Comment 15 of 16ANN.lu

In reply to Comment 11 (Nate Downes):
"Overpriced, sure, but sucked, hardly. The 3DO was superior to the other game consoles on the market, and even surpassed several that came afterwards in several areas. (Easier to program than a Jaguar and Saturn, and could do many of the same functions as both)"

A fair description, although it should be said that the high price was due to an unfortunate choice of business models. They wanted to make money on the hardware while their competitors were all losing money on the hardware and making it back on software. There was some non-standard handling of graphics pages that some developers seemed to take issue with. But a review of the 3DO's top titles demonstrates practical superiority over both Jaguar CD and CD32. Too bad there was no life support for the thing after 3do got out of it.
