According to Hans-Jörg Frieden, AmigaOS 4 SDK beta preview is to be released to Earlybird owners just before Christmas.
Reading some comments, it seems Amiga OS 4 beta is to be released, and it should include the final SDK.
Complete with autodocs, include files, compilers, binutils and some sample code, altough at the moment, without an IDE.

AmigaOS 4 SDK to be released to Earlybird owners : Comment 134 of 184 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Hans-Joerg Frieden on 25-Nov-2003 10:29 GMT | In reply to Comment 3 (Wayne Hunt): This has probably already been answered in the thread (amidst the usual BS, threats, sneers and to-and-fro insults), but I didn't read (nor do I intend to read) the comments. I just saw yours, Wayne, so here's the deal.
It has been said in the interview with Alan Redhouse, by himself, that there are plans to give the Earlybird users access to a current beta of OS 4 before christmas (plans; it might or might not work out, it depends on a few factors which I am not going to get into here). Think of it what you want ("they always said they don't want to sell a beta OS", "you've been bitching about your competition" blah fasel ad nauseam), it's an extension to the current beta test because obviously the best beta testers for an AmigaOne version of OS 4 are AmigaOne owners.
This beta release should (will) include the SDK. There is no such thing as a "beta sdk", or "sdk prerelease" or anything. All I said was that the SDK should be included with this version, as it is included with every beta version of OS 4 that went out to the beta testers right now. All I did was give a direct reply to a question.
Another issue raised was the version of GCC. We have both a 2.95.3 and a 3.4 compiler. The 3.4 surely is the latest cutting-edge branch, for this very reason the 2.95.3 is still part of the SDK. |
