According to Hans-Jörg Frieden, AmigaOS 4 SDK beta preview is to be released to Earlybird owners just before Christmas.
Reading some comments, it seems Amiga OS 4 beta is to be released, and it should include the final SDK.
Complete with autodocs, include files, compilers, binutils and some sample code, altough at the moment, without an IDE.

AmigaOS 4 SDK to be released to Earlybird owners : Comment 175 of 184 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Don Cox on 26-Nov-2003 11:30 GMT | In reply to Comment 173 (Hans-Joerg Frieden): "There hasn'T been any "press release". I just mentioned this on a thread in a forum. Problem is that this has been misquoted, and of course everyone jumped at the opportunity without reading *what* I actually wrote.
I'm not blaming you or anything. I am just saying that it is wiser to take anything that isn't posted by an official source with a grain of salt, and at least look at the reference. This might avoid 170+ threads."
One cause of confusion is that everyone thinks of the OS and the SDK as separate products, each on its own CD. Only the current beta testers know that there is (apparently) one CD with both the OS and the SDK on it.
Those "in the know" would assume that a beta of the OS would come with the current SDK. Others would not.
It would be nice if the final version of the OS also had the SDK on the CD, so that every user has what is needed for developing. Presumably there will be plenty of room on the CD. |
