According to Hans-Jörg Frieden, AmigaOS 4 SDK beta preview is to be released to Earlybird owners just before Christmas.
Reading some comments, it seems Amiga OS 4 beta is to be released, and it should include the final SDK.
Complete with autodocs, include files, compilers, binutils and some sample code, altough at the moment, without an IDE.

AmigaOS 4 SDK to be released to Earlybird owners : Comment 88 of 184 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Don Cox on 24-Nov-2003 14:39 GMT | In reply to Comment 85 (MarkTime): "I use unix everyday, and find linux to be sufficiently similar that I would be comfortable using it, but the last thing I'm going to do is buy an overpriced ppc motherboard to run desktop linux....I'll just get a cheap pc, for the same price, I'll get more, and be happier with the experience.
"
It is not people like you who might be buying A1 boards and running Linux. You are an individual user and will want AOS 4.
The big sales will be to customers for "industrial" applications - kiosks, video players for airlines, karaoke, museums, etc etc. Wherever somebody might buy 500 or 1000 boards. Although AOS would probably work better in many of these applications, my bet is that customers will be more attracted by Linux as they can easily find staff who know Linux.
In many ways the old Amigas were better for applications, because they ran Scala, but Hollywood will probably do instead. |
