Pegasos II G4 1GHz benchmarks! : Comment 55 of 356 | ANN.lu |
Posted by -D- on 12-Jan-2004 07:14 GMT | I see it like this:
I wasn't really expecting a performance difference between Peg I G3 and
Peg II G3, as far as "raw benchmarks". The old board (even crippled) was
probably more than capable of fulfilling the demands of a G3.
What I 'DID' expect was to see an end to the problems caused by the Articia...
and in this respect the goal seems to have been met (no more crappy "certified" memory, G3/G4 cards easily "swapped" with no problems, no more data corruption
etc).
Now my *guess* would be that the disparity between systems would be much more
noticeable when comparing the Peg I G4 and Peg II G4, where the improved
architecture of the Peg II should better handle increased demands brought by
the faster processor.
I would *really* like to see an AmigaMARK module from a Peg I G4 to compare
with a Peg II G4... |
