We are very happy to let you all know that Alan Redhouse will visit us at the AmiGBG 2004 fair. Alan will tell us about what is happening around the AmigaOne hardware and what we can expect further on this year.
PayPal has been integrated into the ticket ordering system, so it´s now possible to pay your ticket in an easy way if you live outside Sweden. We celebrate this by having a DVD movie lottery among those who pre-pay their AmiGBG 2004 tickets!

AmiGBG Update: Eyetech & Paypal : Comment 131 of 303 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Christophe Decanini on 29-Jan-2004 19:24 GMT | In reply to Comment 127 (f. h.): "i dont understand why amiga-people is so interessed in pegasos and mos... arent they like - the blue camp - a large threat and rivals to amiga?! isnt blue camp targeting to steel especially amiga-users??? i would like amiga-event without amiga wannabees and user-thugs hanging about - all the time! cant they have events by them self???? am i wrong? "
I think you definitely are.
We are all part of the same community. Take my example.
I got a Pegasos because AmigaInc failed to deliver anything to replace / upgrade my A4000/OS3.9. Genesi did.
Look at the consequences:
- I'm still an active user of the Amiga community.
- I still do participate here to help out Christian.
- I bought software for MorphOS from the same people who do Amiga software
- I bought from a reseller that support both
etc
So for the last year instead of going "away" on another platform I actively participated money and activity wise. There is a big chance that the application i bought may be ported to AmigaOS4, my reseller would not be able to sell OS4 without Pegasos sale last year etc ...
Am I interested in OS4 ?
Of course, I still have my A4000 PPC and I really hope to run OS4 to test it and use it.
Am I interested in A1 ?
It is a bit pricy. If the price goes down, if I can use my $100 coupon and if OS4 has unique feature I need MorphOS does not have then there are some chances.
Should I be banned, called names because I'm a MorphOS users ?
This is up to you.
Am I a large threat and rivals to amiga ?
I have been one of the most fervent Amiga supporters. But sorry I'm not anymore an AmigaInc supporter. They failed to deliver and took bad decisions IMO. Who knows if they will be able to pay me be back the coupon money ?
I do support Eyetech and Hyperion. I have some Eyetech HW and several Hyperion games at home.
>isnt blue camp targeting to steel especially amiga-users???
I never tried to steel anything from anyone. I did an article on MorphOS to share my experience. I do understand that people who think that "MorphOS is the real deal" try to enforce their view to the people still waiting for OS4. this is human nature (I have something great, get it too).
>i would like amiga-event without amiga wannabees and user-thugs hanging about - all the time
It all depends what event we are speaking about. It is about the same as the websites:
I wouldn't mind an Amigaone or Pegasos user group. I would mind if a traditional big show for one country would decide to go only one way or the other (same with an important software developer or dealer).
MorphOSZone has been specifically made for MorphOS users. I would not mind an OS4zone too.
I was confused for a while with Amigaworld.net because for me the world of the Amiga today includes MorphOS (as well as Amithlon, AROS, ...). |
