We are very happy to let you all know that Alan Redhouse will visit us at the AmiGBG 2004 fair. Alan will tell us about what is happening around the AmigaOne hardware and what we can expect further on this year.
PayPal has been integrated into the ticket ordering system, so it´s now possible to pay your ticket in an easy way if you live outside Sweden. We celebrate this by having a DVD movie lottery among those who pre-pay their AmiGBG 2004 tickets!

AmiGBG Update: Eyetech & Paypal : Comment 185 of 303 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Olegil on 30-Jan-2004 11:47 GMT | In reply to Comment 171 (Bodie_CI5): Last time I met someone from the MOS side I got drunk and squirted lemon in his eyes during dinner (I had seafood). Does that count? :-)
But seriously, I do not know MikeyC enough to know what ideas of his I might share. I'm beginning to suspect not, but I guess that will not change the argument.
My position is that I have chosen a solution, and I am doing what I can to make that solution successful. Not doing so would seem rather silly, don't you think? This does NOT include bad-mouthing people who choose differently. At least in theory ;-)
This is because to me, Amiga is about a computer, NOT a religion. If everyone could at least agree about THAT, I am confident that we could get along much better.
Same with GPL. I'm all for open source, but I'm not hysterical enough about it not to laugh when Linux complains about a module that it will "taint" my otherwise "pure GPL" kernel. I mean, COME ON! ;-)
If it leads to a better solution _for me_, why should I not support it? If MOS+Peg and Aros+x86 (how do I run AROS on my PReP, my m68k Mac or my m68k Amigas?) leads to more software for AmigaOS3.x and OS4, why should I work against it? Doesn't make sense. But if it means LESS software for my chosen solution, why should I work for it? Doesn't make sense either.
Most posts about lack of Amiga support in MOS applications and lack of MOS support in Amiga applications are just laughable, though. It's almost as funny as 3seas and the holy g(pl)rail. Or Seehund and the holy teron. (There is no Teron for sale anywhere, so why do Hyperion need to support it?) |
