[Rant] Freedom of speech is no more on a popular Amiga site. | ANN.lu |

Today a so-called Amiga site which was supposed to allow freedom of speech has now become a exposed heavily censored website, webmasters acting like children insulting members of the site just because they stand up and say what they think.
I feel betrayed.

Freedom of speech is no more on a popular Amiga site. : Comment 207 of 238 | ANN.lu |

No we don't. Only a pedantic issue being caused by either a language, or cultural difference.
> We must find a solution between the concept who have the webmasters that is
> a priviledge to write into their sites...
> ...and the concept of the users that webmasters only offer an opportunity
Both statements are 100% correct and both comments work with (not against) each other, so once again, I fail to see your point. As I've stated already -- unless you're just wanting to argue -- ALL Web sites and forums are compromises between open discussion and necessary limits. It IS a priviledge (as opposed to a "right") for you to be there, but it is also a responsibility of the moderators to act appropriately within their own guidelines to make a site fun to visit.
You've stated that ANN is exactly the good example of a lack of moderation and free/open discussion. Christian allows you to speak your mind here, but he clearly moderates posts when people step over the lines. What the staff of Amiga.org does is ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENT. You're more than welcome to say anything you want on Amiga.org, but there are posting guidelines -- just as there are on ANN. One of ours says "stay on topic", one says "no bashing", one says "no piracy". Where is ANY "problem"?
In fact, as far as I can tell, there is no reason for this debate to continue any further since all you're doing is agreeing with me in a roundabout fashion.
