Well, it is newer and probably better ported. But that does not mean that
anybody should belittle the effort of the original AmiTCP group. They did
what nobody else thought made sense: because Commodore was just about
gearing up to release their own TCP/IP stack -- which eventually never
happened. It was a challenge and they managed to solve the many problems
you get when you port the BSD TCP/IP kernel to a platform it was not
really designed for. What's even better is that they released the source
code of AmiTCP V3. That's pure greatness, you don't get any better than
that :) |
