If so, who are we to judge about all this ? Of course they did this for themselves in first case because it's their business, their help to get this movement going and everything they have done they stomped out of their own. Sure there was help from bPlan and the people involved (we shouldn't forget this).
Think it that way you could have done this on your own too. Create a company and get someone who made PowerPC boards and then sell them, do the marketing, do jump in a plane and fly to all types of countries convincing people about your product and and and.. YES they did it for themselves but they also did it for us. We need them, they need us its a good symbiosis. They gave this community what they was waiting for - for nearly 10 years of stagnation and yet there are a bunch of people without social life who make an harrassment out of it just for the fact that it hasn't a boingball glued ontop of it. They feel offened because it could be a possible future for the Amiga movement but for the freaking sake it does harm their picture of this world.
People should re-consider. If they don't like it then be it that way, no one will whine if you DO NOT buy Genesi products, no one really cares either. It's all and alone your own moneybag and decision if you want to do so or not.
In an ideal world I would welcome if people would get a social life, do some productive stuff to get this community moving again and do support either AROS, AOS4 and MorphOS. Now even with the open source movement AND the free software movement (2 different things) we can benefit even more since these movements are not limited to Linux only it's the philosophy that matters. We can get a lot of good stuff onto our systems and make it become popular again. But no there are still a lot of people outside (again the same types of people) who complain because it's Linux junk that no one wants. No instead cooperating with the open source movement and use good bits they - (not even knowing howto code a shit) complain because they want some own native PowerPC stuff not being stained with the bad influence of Linux (like it was Aids or Malaria) or something.
Well think about it. You people are still stuck in the 90's and on my calendar I read 2004. Best thing is getting work done, work that is necessary. Port software as much you can so we can all benefit from it. |
