Thendic-Amiga Court Case - Latest Motions : Comment 116 of 216 | ANN.lu |

If Amiga goes bust and their agreement with Hyperion/Eyetech follows its way, Hyperion will have total control over OS4 and its future development, so they'll have no need to aply for a license with anyone. If Amiga does not go bust, what will Genesi be sublicensing to Hyperion, their own work??!! Imagine that picture: Hyperion making AOS4 for Amiga, which will license it to Genesi, which will sublicense it to Hyperion!! :) Don't make me laugh. Oh, and of course Buck can license it for less money, since they would get it neraly for free. Anyway, I would not touch an agreement drawn up by Buck with a barg pole :|
OS4.0 will propably come for Terons and Blizzard And Cyberstorm. But then - later versions?
If this happens, it will be thanks to Hyperion, not to Buck.
Very many OS. Even AROS and MorphOS on the same page even when they are so similar. MorphOS is Genesi product, OS4 is Hyperions. Hyperion develop and pay for development, they sell it and get money for it, and they licence the right and Amiga brand from Genesi at better price then before. They can also sell it on hardware that WORKS (the Pegasos) and many customers will like that. :)
First of all, AFAIK (of course, I can be wrong) Hyperion does not pay for development to Amiga Inc, they will pay in a "pay per unit sold" basis, nearly the same type of contract that the one with Genesi. Regarding "sublicensing at better price", must I repeat the words "nearly for free" again? I thought one time would be enough :/
Pegasos is an component for system builders. If someone wants to sell an "Amiga" based on Pegasos - with any Pegasos OS (even Hyperion OS4?) or IP - they sublicence the brand from Genesi. Genesi pay royaltie to Amiga Inc for each product sold and make some bucks for sublicencing it on. MorphOS is still there and the Pegasos.
Wrong. If someone wants to use Amiga brand, including Genesi, its use must be approved first by Amiga Inc. Read the agreement, Luke :)
They didnt want to leave forums but would not disturb the webmasters they did not pay. When payed they will maybe come back! :)
The weirdest explanation I have ever read!! :) Buck stated in its funny "The announcement that wasn't an announcement, blah, blah, blah..." that they left ANN because the bad ambient (hey, nothing related to MOS environment :), it seemed we were all too rude for his delicate sensibility. What he did not say was that he was not paying for the banner on ANN, and that he was not paying C.Kemp salaries, and that I was not even paying his social security taxes!! I think is a serious tax offense, whatever the country. BTW, AFAIK Buck has not paid yet, and he has been sending posts to ANN. What a lack of morality!!!
Genesi will not make Amigas, Hyperion and Eyetech and other (AROS?) will make amiga. They pay for development and licence the name from Genesi. All wins! Even Amiga Inc. who get royaltie money from Genesi.
Genesi has tried to make Amigas with another name, slandering and badnaming Amiga brand and the people behind it (namely, Amiga Inc/Hyperion/Eyetech) until he has realised that it would be far better for its bussines to have The Name (tm) on its machines. Just ask yourself why many Pegasos users have installed AmigaOS v3.9 for daily use....... :Þ And I know quite of them.......
I think now is really time to Hyperion and Eyetech starts forgetting the past and start planning for united future instead of split future. If all come together, all will win! :) If not then its their fault! :(
Why Bill did not think about it first? But, yes, you are right, Hyperion and Eyetech should start planning for united future, but without Al Cap..., ahem, Bill Buck. :)
