Thendic-Amiga Court Case - Latest Motions : Comment 129 of 216 | ANN.lu |
Posted by gary_c on 05-Mar-2004 00:06 GMT | In reply to Comment 113 (Bill Toner): Buck does want or need AmigaOS4 after promising us he didn't.
Promised us? I don't recall any *promise*. Whatever his motivations are now, I don't think he has to be concerned about changing his mind as circumstances change. He may have said at one point that he wasn't interested in AmigaOS, but things can change.
Plus, it's already been said that AmigaOS4 would be made for Pegasos if Genesi accepted the OS4 distribution rules
Without knowing precisely how the contract reads, you can't pass judgement on Genesi's refusing to go that way. I haven't seen it either, but from what I've heard, Amiga, Inc. makes very unreasonable demands.
My biggest question is why doesn't Amiga just port DE to LinuxPPC?
Because Amiga, Inc. is broke and has no resources to port or create anything. Yet this is the company that so many people here seem to prefer as custodian of the Amiga IP. Strange idea, to me.
Considernig Fleecy's email that was mentioned, Amiga will need a lawyer....
I'd really like to see Amiga, Inc. fully represented in court so all sides could be heard, but it seems not only money but attitude prevents that. Did you read Bill McEwen's words when speaking to the court? He was flippant and sarcastic and unfamiliar even with many details of his own company, almost like he didn't care about the outcome of the case. Amiga, Inc.'s management is behaving very strangely, even purposely incompetent, it seems.
