Amiga Inc. Has Sold AmigaOS Rights : Comment 15 of 124 | ANN.lu |
Posted by gary_c on 16-Mar-2004 01:05 GMT | In reply to Comment 9 (Anonymous): Except Bucky-boy and the rest of the clowns are all out of money - while KMOS has them.
Considering that, AFAIK, Bill McEwen failed to mention this sale -- which I would expect to be of critical importance -- when giving sworn testimony concerning Amiga, Inc. and its assets, it seems there may be more legal work to be done to sort things out. It remains to be seen where the criminality is, if any.
It seems more than a little strange to me that an IP sale agreement would be made but not announced for 11 months. Even AmigaOS/AmigaOne supporters seem to have felt that the OS would be better off in someone else's hands, so I wonder why KMOS's delay in acknowledging ownership. I suspect this might represent manuevering by AI's financers as much as, if not more than, a grand plan based on technology and business factors. Remember that when Garry Hare's name first came up as "Amiga, Inc. CEO," it was said that he was brought in by the financers to try to straighten things out. I suspect there's a connection here.
Anyway, if this isn't all just a legal shell game, let's hope it opens up more options for AmigaOS, despite Garry Hare's mention of the AmigaOne partners' agreement.
