I've been a registered AmigaDE developer for years, and now Amiga Inc drop this bomb on us? They've been _promising_ us that our developement efforts would be put forth in AmigaOS! they've been promising us this for years! There was 3000 of us at one point, and you've just alienated ALL of us! We've worked for NOTHING. LIARS! You've screwed us ALL over. Again!!

AmigaOS and DE integration CANCELLED? : Comment 57 of 93 | ANN.lu |
Posted by NihilVor on 22-Mar-2004 18:58 GMT | In reply to Comment 55 (Lando): Lando,
There is a big difference between an integration of DE into 4.0 (the original concept for 5.0; most of us applauded the fact that this was dropped) and porting a DE player (like they have for Windows—see the first ask Fleecy [" We have already stated that we are targeting an AACE player for AmigaOS4.2"], but the news of this change predates that by at least a year by McEwen). We’ve been over this many times over the past few years. Future versions of the Amiga OS will not be based on DE, but a DE player port is not out of the question. |
