Garry Hare Interview Now ONLINE : Comment 230 of 364 | ANN.lu |

Since around the end of last year I think it has become blatantly clear that at least two major figures from two separate and very prominent Amiga websites have been "used".
Although I never claimed Wayne was a liar, I did post one of the fake business cards. This was not intended to imply Wayne was a liar and certainly couldn't be taken as evidence to PROVE Wayne was wrong.
Instead, it was intended to make people question the source (i.e. BBRV) and highlight just how easily something could be faked. As it turns out, it wasn't fake. But it seems it (and Wayne) were certainly used by BBRV to imply a fictitious event (nothing new there).
Though I doubt this is the card you refer to (since it was the probably little seen and least effective Genesi one with Garry Hare's name on it and there were more prominent ones using the Amiga logo) I will actually publicly apologize to Wayne now because I acknowledge it may have been construed to imply he was a liar.
So, apologize to Wayne.
At the same time, I think I should also apologize to Garry Hare for implying he was somehow connected with Genesi (or more specifically, BBRV) - I honestly couldn't have thought of a worse insult ;-) This was posted so soon after the incident of his naming that no-one from Amiga had actually confirmed they had some dealings with him at the time.
In the Babylon 5 episode "The Geometry of Shadows" one Drazi faction wears green, the other wears purple and this basic difference leads to fights until Ivanova accidently becomes green leader and orders all the greens to dip their scarf in purple dye.
Let's go one better: let's take the scarfs from both the red (AmigaOS) and blue (MorphOS) factions and put them all in a vat of black die. Turn round and hug an opponent today. At the end of the day every one of us (as a community) has been a victim and it's time to move on. It's reconciliation time. |
