I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 605 of 1057 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Fabio Alemagna on 07-Apr-2004 22:09 GMT | In reply to Comment 601 (IanS): > > You: if you have any issues with Mikey_C you should take it up with the

Hm? In what way? The above was not meant to be an exact quote, but only a summary of it. The exact quote is this one:
"Besides which fabio, Mikey_C is but one moderator in an entire team. If you
had issues with him then maybe you should have e-mailed the site owners with
details of your problems."
How's the quote different, in substance, from what I've written and which you say is a miscronstruction of what you said?
> I have had problems with what Mikey has said many times, but every time this
> occurs I tell him what I think and he takes that onboard. I do not bleat on
> other forums about him.
I'm not bleating about him, I'm talking about an issue that you raised. It's not my fault if I think he was the cause of the earlier censorship at AWorld. Am I not allowed to talk about these kind of things? Hey, following your reasoning this thread should exist at all: Chistian should have never brought this on here, if he had any issues with bbrv he should have talked directly with him. Right?
DISCLAIMER: I do not think for real that Christian should have behaved like that, it was just an example to show that your reasoning is not very well balanced.
> Please tell me... did you email the aw.net staff and express you concerns? Or
> did you choose to simply make a lot of noise on another public forum? Were you
> trying to be constructive and help out aw.net in their areas of weakness?
I did more, I tried to talk about the issues in the forum directly, in public, on AWorld, not privately: the moderation is public, not private, don't see why complaints should be private.
It's not my style to start threads on fora to discredit other fora.
> Put simply, everyone makes mistakes. Only the truly honourable can apologise
> and move on.
Whether apoligies were made, by whoever involved, is irrelevant... I'm not saying that there's censorship now, I'm saying that there's been, and stating the reasons for which there's been. |
