I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 621 of 1057 | ANN.lu |

I doubt I've ever said it, yet alone "frequently". I may have said it once, perhaps twice, that is not what I'd define "frequently".
In any case, when I said it I must have been a bit angry. If I said it, of course, which I don't remember. I apologize for that, specially because I don't think it anymore, if I've ever thought it.
> If you dislike it that much, why keep commenting?
If I disliked it that much, do you think I'd be registered there and frequently post comments?
> If the censorship is that

Did you really miss the two times in this thread where I stated that I do not think there there is now censorship? And regarding the IRC channel, I've only joined it when I wanted to get hold of DaveP, ad the time he said that he'd done a linux PPC port of AROS. Never joined since then, so you might pay more attention to the tenses you use when constructing your sentences.

Because, evidently, I don't hold grudges? The fact it's so difficult for you to understand this makes me wonder whether you are sincere when you say you want the "camps" united: you want union, yet you don't hesitate to suggest me to leave the site on the basis of something I may have thought about it in the past.
Ian, Ian...

Well, the please give me the term that corresponds to the following definition: a form of control, pursued by an authority to make sure that, in this case, written text doesn't contain any elements deemed inappropriate.
You may call it moderation, I will call it moderation if it keeps itself whitin reasonable ranges of action, I will call it censorship when the reasons for pursuing the aforementioned control go beyond the mere rules of public decency and decor. |
