I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 640 of 1057 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Bw on 08-Apr-2004 03:29 GMT | In reply to Comment 625 (Christophe Decanini): No doubt BBRV did invest money to promote their products in various ways, that is to be expected if they want to see their project/company to succeed and avoid bankruptcy. They did gave away alot of machine they couldn't sell as well. I believe this was a good choice as else there wouldn't have been half the software developments for MOS.
But apart from investing in promoting their product IMO they have done far more damage to their products and the reputation of their users by their behaviour towards various individuals and rival companies. I think it has even dragged down the reputation of the entire community because of the associated trolling and childish public fights. As a whole I think we all lost bigtime! |
