I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 789 of 1057 | ANN.lu |

No, it's not bullshit IMO. There are reasons to why it has come to this; as I said, it takes two to tango. Why is not amiga.org "threatened"? AFAIK, there are actually a few people employed by Genesi that are being paid, who keeps working (and like to continue to do that). There are dealers who has invested much money in Genesi products. There are developers in the community who has invested lots of work into products, with their eyes on the future. There are lots of users that has invested money into a future they hope will be interesting. And IMHO, it can all still come true. But there are lots of people who has a lot to loose, including the people directly involved in Genesi. If someone strikes against them, for whatever reason, personal vendetta or not, Genesi should have the right to protect them. That's not bullshit.

They have a fine track record of bending over backwards for customer satisfaction. One or two dealers are another matter ...

That is the way it should have been handled from the beginning IMO, *not through mobilizing a community lynch mob*. Lynch mobs are not justice in my eyes, that's just plain disgusting. Sorry for the harsh words ... |
