I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 794 of 1057 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Interesting on 08-Apr-2004 18:18 GMT | In reply to Comment 640 (Bw): >>>No doubt BBRV did invest money to promote their products in various ways, that is to be expected if they want to see their project/company to succeed and avoid bankruptcy. They did gave away alot of machine they couldn't sell as well. I believe this was a good choice as else there wouldn't have been half the software developments for MOS.<<<<<
Yes, but where did the money come from? At who's expense? If you reread Dales story the employee he was with was not paid in like two years if memory serves?
My problem with this whole mess is that the people worked their hearts out on something, got nothing for it but grief, and Buck walks away with the cash, IP etc.
>>>>But apart from investing in promoting their product IMO they have done far more damage to their products and the reputation of their users by their behaviour towards various individuals and rival companies. I think it has even dragged down the reputation of the entire community because of the associated trolling and childish public fights. As a whole I think we all lost bigtime!<<<<
When the truth comes out it doesn't go over well. I might point out this is nothing new. If you were around during the Escom Bankruptcy days , you can see that history is repeating itself. People/companies got hurt back then, and the "blame game" happened, Viscorp was a major mess for the Amiga users. |
