I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 805 of 1057 | ANN.lu |

Chicken and egg. If Genesi hadn't threatened Ann, Genesi wouldn't be in the PR gutter right now. Everyone already knew about the unpaid employees, we knew and accepted it.

For now... what happenes when a situation arises when "Genesi has to protect itself" again? Genesi had a fine track record of paying employees too, untill it was in their best interest not to. By Genesi's actions we see a company that will do anything it possibly can to protect itself even if it means completely shirking it's obligations and letting people suffer. Survival is king, above everything.

Christian didn't mobilise anything. Why do you think everyone's pissed NOW rather than when we found out he wasn't paid? Hell, ALOT of people wern't paid, but the shit hit the fan now, not then.
This isn't a lynch mob, it's perfectly reasonable (and expected, completely anticipatable!) public reaction to the actions of Genesi. Something at Genesi must be broken if this feedback isn't being read that way.
I can assure you that the reacting public isn't going to be appeased by observing that their reasonable reactions are disgusting, while the actions of Genesi are explained as reasonable!
Damnit I wish this never happened. |
