I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Legal threats? : Comment 831 of 1057 | ANN.lu |

This is really not about "generousity", but to answer your question: No, and that is because of several reasons. First, I am biased (because of *very many*, now historical reasons, and they are too many to list here (besides, it doesn't really matter anymore)). Second, a lot more is at stake here. Amiga Inc never got half this far, and they never got half the amount of people involved half as much. Amiga Inc bought a brand, spent some millions on god knows what, and then they went out in the periphery in practice. Here, a lot of people has invested a lot, not only BBRV and Genesi (who really has done great things for many of the people I have seen in this thread), but also third party developers, resellers, and users. Real products are out (and have been for more than a year), strategies are formed and tested (and fails more often than they succeed, but what the heck, at least someone tries) and there is an actual development of good things (even though some of the developments has come to a painful halt or are slowed down due to the very same reasons I mentioned in a post above). People seems to forget that, and that was the only reason for me to even get involved in this mud slinging contest. Is it really fair that one single person, with *great* impact on the community, should be able to smash all that because of his (really) unfortunate personal experiences?
I believe I was a true Amiga Inc supporter at the very beginning though ...
